The Teen Musical Theatre program has exceeded our expectations! It's beyond a space to develop acting, singing and dancing talents — it's a space to build confidence and practise key life skills. Megan, Wayne and Sharon create a warm, fun and energetic environment that culminates in a high-quality performance.
I spent 10 years as a student at CharActors and it honestly transformed my life. They help instil confidence for any child to be whoever they want to be. I met some of my best friends and role models there — people I know will be around for a lifetime!
Some of my most special childhood memories are of my time at CharActors. Megan and Wayne created a safe working environment where we could all create freely. I credit my many years there for my decision to pursue a career in the arts.

On this occasion, when my daughter is actually graduating Charactors after being here since Grade 5, I need to say a few words from the bottom of my heart. Charactors has been a real lifesaver for her — it has been her second home and her happy place, even in hard times. It is a place where she feels safe to be her true self. A place that taught her discipline and hard work. A place that built her self-confidence. A place that made her proud of who she is. I cannot imagine a world without Charactors. Thank you Megan, Wayne and Sid.
In my 43 years, I have never seen such a well-polished group of talented teens perform! We were literally blown away by the entire show and cast. I felt like I knew these characters, each having a story, each telling it so well that I forgot I was sitting at The City Playhouse and not The Royal Alex. DAMN that was entertaining, and DAMN you guys do an awesome job preparing these kids for such a challenging task!

I always thought success in life was health, a career and money — but as the years have passed I've seriously revised that outlook. Success is passion, hard work and having fun in whatever you choose to do. I am grateful to Megan and Wayne for having instilled that into my daughter. But when I ask her what she loves about the program, she says she has FUN! To me, that is what being a kid is about. Thank you for creating an environment that instils this much happiness.
This year has taught me that I do have the potential and drive to take on [a lead role]. It taught me to trust my instincts and judgement, to trust that I am a good actor. It taught me leadership skills, that if someone has the drive to make something great, others will believe in that drive as well. I've gained so many friends and grown closer to friends I already had this year.
Every week I never wanted class to end. When it was over, I counted down the days to the next class, planning out all the tests, assignments, and work shifts I had to get through before the next week.
So thank you for the gift that is this show. Thank you for believing in me to take on this role and strive to grow the character. But most importantly, thank you for your continued love and support not just to me, but every kid who come to Charactors.
